Baby it's cold outside!

Mom ~ I'm bored...what can I do since I can't go outside?

BRRRRRR! Minnesota winters can be harsh and the weather can get nasty cold. This all means that our furry friends aren't able to head outside to burn off energy, which means they can get bored!

Boredom = Naughty Doggies

Dogs that aren't getting enough playtime or things to keep them busy can lead to destructive behaviors such as chewing, ripping, and destroying anything they can get their paws on (or teeth on).

Paws Inn Resort has the solution for you!

Check out our interactive toys that will keep your dog's mind stimulated while inside your home. We have Bouncy Bones, Treat Balls, Puzzle toys, and SO MUCH MORE! Stop in today to pick up a new toy for your dog to entertain themselves with and to keep the "naughty dog" from entering your house.

Late but awesome find!

Book Review

Summary

Play is fun, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s just goofy or frivolous. Play is powerful stuff, and it has a profound influence on your relationship with your dog. This engagingly written booklet shows how play can enhance your relationship with your dog, improve your dog’s responsiveness, and provide your dog with the mental and physical exercise he or she needs. Inside is up-to-date research on how to tell your dog you want to play (most of us aren’t very good at it!), some charming tricks and games to wow your friends, and an important section on how not to play with your dog. If you'd like a happier, more responsive dog and a closer relationship with each other, then this booklet is for you.

Jodi gives this book a thumbs up!

Jodi believes this is an short, easy read for dog owners of all levels. She likes how it uses play to enhance your relationship and it gives examples of games to play as well as how to implement learning while teaching them. To name a few games, they recommend Ball, Find It, Tricks including Sniffing on Cue, Jumping Through a Hoop. If you are looking for more organized classes, it runs through and explains classes you can look for and join. Most of all, it just plain tells you how to play with your dog! Jodi feels this is a great book for those of you with new puppies all the way through senior dogs.
