All About Me!
Birthday: March 5, 2007
I was rescued with my mom and brothers and sisters from a puppy mill in South Dakota by RAGOM when I was four weeks old. My boy, Wyatt picked me out the moment he saw me. I was the biggest and friendliest of our litter and Wyatt knew it was love at first lick! Me too, by the way.
I am starting to get my family members trained in although it is sometimes a tough job. My alpha dad, Wyatt’s dad, now knows when I need a walk, when I want to play, and when to scratch my tummy. He has learned pretty quickly.
Wyatt’s little brother Rowan now knows how to sneak me bites from the table when others aren’t looking. I just give him the signal with my big brown eyes when I am ready. I create a diversion by walking under the table and he flips me a bite when I come out near him. Alpha Dad has caught us a few times and now I have to lay down and stay in by his side when they are eating.
My adopted Mom Annie is still not sure about dogs, but I can tell I am growing on her. When she gets out of line, I just lick her leg. It drives her up a wall and then I usually get to go outside.
We have a couple of cats, Moses & Iris, who are not as easy to train as the human’s. Moses is less afraid of me now. He had heard rumors about how mean dogs were to cats, but he is coming around. I just lick him and sniff him and just show him how lovable I am. Iris, the little one, is my best four legged friend. We play a lot and she will sleep with me during the day. I can get her to purr just by licking her or nuzzling her around the floor. Once in awhile, I let her chase my tail. She gets a big kick out of that. The only game she does not seem to like it tag. I think it might be because when I put my paw on her gently, she gets flattened to the floor. She keeps telling me I don’t know my own strength.
I have designated myself the official alarm clock for my humans. I make sure at least one of them gets up with the sun each morning. I just hate missing any part of the day. I love going running with Alpha Dad. It keeps him in shape and I get to sniff out the neighborhood. My favorite thing to do that is play with the boys in the snow and have snowball fights, or pull them on skis on the lake when it is frozen. Swimming is also good.
My Favorites
I refuse to eat any food except the natural lines from Paw’s Inn. I especially like the lamb treat Alpha dude gives me when I am training him. Don’t tell him what is going on though.
One of my favorite things to do is play with the boys in the park. I sit and stay to give them a head start after the ball. When they get a ways out and just as they think they have a chance I take off at Dad’s command and run them down. I have a fun trick that I do if it is close. I turn a bit sideways just as I get to them and knock their feet out from under them. This tactic is usually enough for me to get that extra jump on the ball. It that doesn’t work, they are usually laughing so hard they can’t get up so either way, I win! Yeah! What a game!!!
At night, I usually start on the floor but by morning, I have convinced my boy Wyatt to give me room on his bed. This gives me a better angle when the alarm goes off to lick his face. If I can get to the bed before he does at night then I can take up at least two thirds of the bed. The mom thinks this is just not right, having a dog in the bed, but hey, how else can I keep my boy warm?
I love going for rides in the car and one of my favorite trips is going to Paws Inn where I get to have play dates to play with my best doggie buddies. Trooper is always a gas to play with as are some of the others who’s human’s are good enough to bring them in. I can smell that we are getting close a few miles away and that is when I start to sing and bark to let my human’s know I am excited.
My favorite treat, usually mid-morning is to get my Kong filled with peanut butter. I always know I can get one if I pester the adults when they are trying to get something done. It works every time. They think it distracts me but that will be our little secret, won’t it?
"All right friends, on the count of three, we run around like goofballs and make these humans laugh...ready, 1...2...3...BREAK!"
